Portland, Oregon – Update: The PPB Major Crash Team is wrapping up its on scene investigation. After a biohazard cleanup team is finished, the ramp is expected to reopen. We hope to have that done before 7:30 A.M.

Investigators have determined the pedestrian struck was a white female. She was seen lying on the roadway before she was struck by the vehicles, but it’s unclear how she got there. Traffic investigators would like to talk to anyone who saw a person matching that description on or near the freeway ramp around 3:00 A.M.

Additionally, investigators believe a semi truck and trailer was among the vehicles that struck the pedestrian as she was laying in the roadway. The semi did not stop, and the driver may not have been aware that he or she was involved. They’re asking for the driver to call to police non-emergency 503 823 3333. Reference case number 19-112727.
