Person Dead After Barricading Themselves In NE Portland Home Among Child Exploitation Investigation

PORTLAND, Ore. — A person was found dead inside a home on NE 14th Avenue north of Ainsworth Street on Thursday morning after barricading themselves inside when agents from the FBI Portland Field Office showed up with a search warrant.

Authorities were conducting a federal child exploitation investigation.

The Portland Police Bureau Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) found the occupant dead inside the home after a brief standoff.  The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

The FBI says “law enforcement did not use force during this incident”.

A hazardous materials team is investigating possible hazardous substances inside the home.
