Pelosi Inching Closer To Calling For Impeachment Proceedings

(Washington, DC) — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi plans to make an announcement late today after meeting with her leadership team, committee chairs and members of the House Democratic caucus. Pelosi is under growing pressure to launch impeachment proceedings against President Trump. She has been very cool to the idea of impeachment, but is angry about the controversy over Trump and Ukraine. Pelosi is demanding access to a report from the intelligence community’s inspector general about a recent call between President Trump and the Ukranian president.

The White House is blocking the inspector general’s report, which was based on a whistleblower complaint. The President has denied that he withheld aid to Ukraine in exchange for a pledge from the Ukranian president to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter. Hunter Biden had some business dealings in Ukraine. No evidence has emerged of any impropriety by the Bidens. The former VP is the frontrunner in the Democratic presidential sweepstakes. Nearly 400-million-dollars in aid to Ukraine was eventually released.
