Portland Ore – Some parents are calling for the principal of a Southeast Portland school to be removed after a 3rd-grader ingested a “white substance” while at school.

Arleta Elementary principal Diana Kruger sent out a message saying that the student was “monitored by our health assistant until their family could arrive” and take them to a doctor for a checkup. She later told parents of students in the class that the child had ingested crack cocaine.

Parents, some of whom had a student in the classroom at the time of the incident, held a press conference on Tuesday afternoon outside the school asking for Principal Kruger to be removed.

The parents say they want answers, and they’re not getting them from the principal.
