Portland, Or. – A 21 year old OSU student died at a Portland hospital after she fell 100 feet from a cliff on  the Oregon Coast.  FOX12 reports Michelle Casey and her boyfriend had stopped to take pictures at the Neahkahnie Mountain viewpoint along Highway 101. They stepped over the retaining wall and she slipped and fell.  She was taken by Life Flight to Legacy Emmanuel Hospital, where she died.

KXL interviewed Michelle and her parents two years ago after she fell asleep behind the wheel and her car wound up in a ditch. Her parents were able to locate her and call for help thanks to an app that tracks her movements. Michelle told us  ” some of the nurses were very sweet and they were just telling me it’s not your day and I said I know it’s not my day. She’s like no; it’s not your day to die. You still have a great life to live.”

Her mother Colleen has posted on Facebook  “please pray for my daughter, Michelle Casey’s soul.”
