Oregon Wheat to Feed the Starving

Portland Ore – The civil war in Yemen has created a humanitarian crisis, but Oregon’s wheat harvest is going to benefit millions of people there.The United States purchased 200,000 tons of Oregon wheat for the United Nations World Food program to distribute. That’s enough for about 400 million loaves of bread. Seven ships destined for Yemen are currently being loaded in Portland. The wheat will feed about 100 million people.
