Oregon State Returns to Glory Years to Find New Head Football Coach

CORVALLIS, Ore. –  Former star Beaver quarterback, and current University of Washington Offensive Coordinator, Jonathan Smith has agreed to become the next head football coach at Oregon State University, according to 1029/750 The Game’s John Canzano.

The 38-year-old Smith was a four year starter for the Beavers, leading them to an 11-1 record and a Fiesta Bowl victory over Notre Dame in 2000. He ranks third in school history in both passing yards and touchdown passes.

He has been on Chris Petersen’s staff in Seattle since 2014.
