Oregon Sees Decline In COVID-19 Cases

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Oregon Health Authority reports a 13 percent drop in COVID-19 cases for the week of August 16th through August 23rd.

24,177 Oregonians were tested that week and 5.1 percent of people tested positive.

That’s down from 5.4% the week before.

The age group with the highest infection rate remains 20 to 29, while the elderly remain the hardest hit.

75 percent of the state’s deaths from the virus are people 70 or older.
