Oregon Reports More than 5,500 New COVID-19 Cases

PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon health officials reported more than 5,500 new coronavirus cases and 40 new virus-related fatalities over the weekend.

According to OHA, 5,545 new COVID-19 cases in Monday’s report, brings the statewide case total to 273,896 since the pandemic first began.

Hospitalizations related to the virus remain high, though many numbers have had a slight drop.

Currently, there are 1,120 COVID-19 patients in hospital beds across Oregon.

There are 39 available ICU beds across the state.

Oregon reports 2,493 confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 cases on Aug. 27, 1,864 new confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 cases on Aug. 28, and 1,188 new confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 cases on Aug. 29.
