Portland Ore – A planned teacher walkout will close Portland Public Schools on May 8, adding one day to the end of the school year.The Oregon Education Association designated May 8 as a statewide to rally in Salem. PPS said they now have an estimate of how many teachers plan to be absent that day, so they’re closing all schools. The last day for PPS this school year is now set for June 12.
