New Affordable Housing

Portland Ore – City, County leaders, builders, bankers an more attended the Grand opening of Hazel Heights, a new Central City Concern affordable housing complex that will be home to 153 households. Chief Housing and Strategy Officer at Central City Concern Sean Hubert explains the affordable formula as a percentage. He says people should be paying 30 to 40 percent of income or less for housing. He says units at Hazel Heights come in at 30 to 60 percent of median income. That pencils out to about 400 to a thousand dollars a month for one to two bedroom units.
