Music Legend Dies

The death of the founder of Tower Records has sparked so many memories for me, it’s overwhelming.  I grew up in Sacramento and cannot tell you how many times my dad and I would go to Tower Records and spend hours thumbing through the albums and later, CD’s.   I can smell the way those albums smelled.  I can see all the eclectic  people standing around, focused on their music game plan.  We’d go there to stall before a movie started across the street at Tower Theater.  We’d go there just to pass the time on a Sunday.  So many memories.  For my Oregon friends,  Tower records was to Sacramento, what Music Millenium was/is to Portland.   Read more about Russ Solomon and Tower Records below.  RIP Russ.
