PORTLAND, Ore. — The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for early Monday morning with temperatures in the low 20’s to just around freezing.

Forecasters say the conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation and could damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Oregon; Willapa Hills; Central Coast Range of Western Oregon; Central 
Willamette Valley; Lower Columbia; South Willamette Valley; Lower 
Columbia and I - 5 Corridor in Cowlitz County; Greater Vancouver Area; 
Greater Portland Metro Area

WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 22 expected. Lowest 
temperatures expected above 1000 ft, and through the southern 
Willamette Valley.

WHERE...In Washington, Greater Vancouver Area, I-5 Corridor in Cowlitz 
County, Willapa Hills and South Washington Coast. In Oregon, South 
Willamette Valley, Coast Range of Northwest Oregon, Central Willamette 
Valley, Greater Portland Metro Area, Lower Columbia and Central Coast 
Range of Western Oregon.

WHEN...From 1 AM to 10 AM PDT Monday.

IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive 
vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent 
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be 
wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground 
sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to 
protect them from freezing.
