CBS News Transportation Correspondent Kris Van Cleave says United Airlines is making a significant change to its mileage program. Here’s a Tweet from Van Cleave: (United Airlines) “just made it harder for many to earn elite status, especially its most elite levels. UA is shifting away from miles flown to a system that focuses on how much a flyer spends…and 1K is expensive! But for flyers who spend A LOT this isn’t terrible.”
