MOUNT RAINIER NATIONAL PARK, Wash. (AP) – Authorities say two men who hadn’t returned from a day hike in Mount Rainier National Park have been found.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that deputies and volunteers were searching by air and on the ground for a 43-year-old man from Olympia and a 43-year-old man from Lakewood.

The sheriff’s office tweeted later Monday night that the hikers had been found and that teams were working on a plan to bring them down the trail.

The men were believed to be on the Mother Mountain trail in the northwest corner of the park.
