Man Wanted For Alleged Murder In Washington State Arrested At Border

EVERETT, Wash. (AP) – Police say U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents have arrested an Everett killing suspect near the Mexico border.

Everett police spokesman Aaron Snell said Monday that agents arrested Jesse L. Hartman on the Otay Mesa pedestrian bridge, between San Diego and Tijuana, on Sunday.

The 38-year-old Hartman was wanted in the March 21 killing of Wyatt Powell, who was found in a crashed vehicle with a bullet wound to his head.

Detectives believe Hartman rammed Powell’s car, flipping it, and then fired into it because Powell had run into Hartman’s girlfriend’s car earlier.

It was not immediately known if Hartman had an attorney who could speak on his behalf.
