Man Convicted Of Bias Crime After Attack On Temple

HILLSBORO, Ore. — A Washington County man has been found guilty of committing a bias crime.

Sean Michel-White was welcomed into the ISKCON Temple in Hillsboro last August, but became aggressive when asked to put on a mask.

He knocked over statues, hit two members of the congregation and bit them.

He was eventually subdued by community members until police arrived.

He told officers he was a Hindu God and that members of the temple weren’t practicing their faith correctly.

As part of his sentence, Michel-white must undergo mental health treatment.
