Man Accused of Torture, Terror and Murder Takes Own Life As Police Close In

GRANTS PASS, Ore. —A man police believe tortured and almost killed two women, is now also the prime suspect in the murders of two men in Oregon.  Benjamin Foster himself, met a violent end.

The 36 year old died in a hospital hours after he shot himself while hiding in a crawlspace under a Grants Pass house.  Grants Pass Police Chief Warren Hensman described an urgent nationwide manhunt for him, after police found a woman they believe he’d tortured, and was near death in Grants Pass. “We had people around the clock listening to hundreds of tips,” said Hensman.

Foster was out on a plea deal in Nevada, after he admitted guilt in the torturing of a former girlfriend there.  As officers closed on him, they found two murdered men they say are also his victims.  “We discovered a double homicide scene,” said Josephine County Sheriff Dave Daniel.

They don’t think the victims Richard Barron or Donald Griffith, knew Foster,  but believe he killed them and stole some of their belongings, including a dog.
