Marion County, Ore. – A 29-year-old man will go before a judge this afternoon, accused of assaulting a woman and stealing a motor-home southeast of Salem. Marion County deputies say the suspect hit the woman with a flashlight Sunday morning before taking off in her R.V. on Sky Lane Southeast. Investigators later found the motor-home hidden behind some brush on Smith Road Southeast. About a half hour later, a K-9 team found Bryce McCauley hiding in some bushes. There’s no word on the condition of the woman who was attacked.

Bryce Mason-McCauley has been charged with Burglary I, Burglary II, Assault II, Criminal Mischief III, Unlawful use of a motor vehicle and Unlawful entry into a motor vehicle in addition to his Parole Violation. He is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow at 3:00 pm at the Marion County Jail court annex.

At approximately 0945 on the morning of 08/11/2019 Marion County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the 4000 block of Sky Lane SE of a burglary in progress.

Upon arriving on scene Deputy’s obtained information the suspect had assaulted the victim with a flashlight and fled the scene in the victim’s motor home. The motor home was later located behind some brush on to the 8000 block of Smith Rd. SE.

At approximately 1000 Deputy’s requested K9 assistance to track the suspect. The K9 arrived on scene and cleared the motor home and began tracking the suspect at approximately 1025. The suspect was found hiding in some brush at approximately 1059.

The suspect was taken into custody at approximately 1110 this morning and will be transported to the Marion County Jail after being cleared by medics on scene.

The suspect has been identified as Bryce Mason-McCauley,29, of Salem Oregon. He has been booked into the Marion County Jail on Parole Violation with additional charges on the way.
