Loggers Meet In Salem, Protesting Bills In Legislature

SALEM, Ore. — Logging trucks rolled up to the Oregon State Capital rotunda on Thursday.  Members of the Oregon Natural Resource Industries rallied against House Bill 4055, and Senate Bills 1501 and 1502.

If the package of bills passes, fewer acres of forest land will be harvested.  Taxes would go up and timber will be devalued.  The bills are generational, meaning the legislation would stay in place 50 years.

Consumers should expect higher prices to build homes and do household projects because the price of anything that’s wood will be even more expensive.
