Lloyd Center Mall Stays Closed After Fire

The Lloyd Center Mall will stay closed for now, as workers keep making repairs after an electrical fire broke out on August 6th.

Mall managers are not giving details about the extent of the damage from fire and smoke. They say they’re working with Pacific Power to reopen the Northeast Portland mall as soon as possible.

Investigators have not yet released the cause of the fire, which started in a generator room.

There were no injuries, and the mall was evacuated and power shut off.
