If you’re choking on the smoke today here in the Northwest, remember how you voted last November. And if you’re hamstrung by the closures of major highways, make sure you thank a Democrat.
Northwest forests have gone up in flames this summer. Bad forest management policies driven almost exclusively by Democrat lawmakers in Salem, Olympia, and Washington DC have set the region up to burn. Not just this year but for years to come!
There are things we could change. We could log the goldmine of state and federal forests and then replant them to clear away decades of wildfire fuel. We could create jobs, paychecks and tax revenues for roads, schools and police. We could insist that crews put out fires when they’re first identified. Or we could let it burn.
Today marks two months since the Chetco Bar Fire began; America’s biggest fire. Our Government masters decided to let that one burn. Now the trees we own, a legacy from the last century, worth hundreds of millions of dollars is just ash in your lungs.
