Higgins Restaurant Preparing For A Nearly Post-Pandemic Feast

PORTLAND, Ore. — Higgins Restaurant on Southwest Broadway fought tooth and nail to survive the pandemic and riots in downtown Portland.

Last Thanksgiving, which is Higgins biggest day, staff put together Feast Boxes for 4 people.  Those were available for curbside pickup at set times.  This year, things are different.

Dinner will be served inside.  Instead of being able to accommodate 400 diners, they can only serve 200.  Covid-19 spacing of tables has to be followed.  67 people were on staff before the pandemic.  That number is significantly lower now at 27.

“It’s a bit challenging, but we’re having a great time doing it,” owner Greg Higgins said.

On the Thanksgiving menu turkey, or roast loin of pork, or sired salmon with a choice of two soups and a fall salad with cranberries and apples.  Desserts include the traditional pumpkin pie.

Higgins says 100 reservations have already been made.  To make one, call (503) 222-9070.
