Hatchet Attack In SE Portland

Portland, Or. – A man with a hatchet attacked a pedestrian in the Hosford-Abernethy neighborhood late last night. Neighbors had called 911 to report it. Police arrived on scene and found the victim who suffered minor injuries and didn’t need medical attention.

Neighbors helped police find the suspect, 25-year-old Evan T. Hunt, about a block away.  He was arrested  and lodged into the Multnomah County Detention Center. He’s been charged with attempted assault, unlawful use of a weapon, menacing, and disorderly conduct. Hunt also had a warrant for his arrest relating to a different attempted assault charge.
