Gunshots Fired At Sheriff’s Deputy During Pursuit Of Robbery Suspects

VANCOUVER, Wash. — A robbery suspect is accused of shooting at a Clark County Sheriff’s deputy while trying to get away.

The deputy spotted two men in a stolen truck on Interstate 5 southbound after fleeing a robbery at the Kohl’s store on NE 5th Avenue just after 5:30 on Saturday night.

During the pursuit, somebody fired two rounds at the patrol car, missing the deputy.

The driver crashed into a utility police at East 33rd Street and Watson Avenue.  A gun thrown out of the vehicle was recovered by police along with shell casings.

Joshua Young and Rashawn Anderson face a list of charges including robbery, elude and possession of a stolen vehicle.  Young also faces charges of assault and unlawful possession of a firearm.
