A vital part of Oregon’s economic wheel that has been impacted by Covid-19 is the Seafood industry.

Some relief could be on the way. According to the Federal Cares Act – NOAA allocated nearly $16 million in funds for businesses who rely on different fisheries.

ODFW developed a Plan for eligibility and claim requirements.

Ed Bowles with Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife says the state has kicked in $2.5 million in funds as well.

September 8th is the application deadline.

The Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission will review applications and distribute payments of approved claims to eligible applicants.
