Focused Intervention Team Busy This Past Weekend

PORTLAND, Ore. — Officers with the Portland Police Bureau’s Focused Intervention Team were patrolling an area known for shootings on Friday night when they seized three guns, a loot of drugs and arrested three people.

Two people in a car, both with outstanding warrants, were arrested near Southeast 122nd and Lincoln Street.  Officers recovered a semiautomatic handgun, over 38 grams of powder cocaine and 7 grams of crack cocaine.

Three hours later, two guns were seized from a suspect at Southeast 122nd and Holgate Street.

There have been 293 shooting incidents in the city this year that have wounded 84 people.  All but one of the 20 homicides so far have been shootings.
