Firefighters Rescue Resident From Albany Apartment Fire

ALBANY, Ore. — One person was rescued by firefighters when their apartment complex caught fire early Thursday morning.

Crews found the second floor of the complex on SW Elm Street near 24th Avenue fully engulfed.

Emergency responders saved a tenant who was trapped on the second floor.  There were no injuries, but a cat died.

The damage is too severe for residents to stay in their apartments.

The cause is still under investigation.
