Fire Damages Northwest Packing Company In Vancouver

VANCOUVER, Wash. — A fire at Northwest Packing Company damaged the building early Tuesday morning.

Crews responding around 4:40am could see flames and smoke a mile away from the building in an industrial area on Thompson Avenue near West 16th Street.

“There were about a dozen barrels on fire outside.  The fire did extend into the building,” said Joe Hudson with Vancouver Fire.

Firefighters attacked the flames on two sides of the building and were able to protect the rest of the structure along with semis and packing material from damage.

There were no injuries reported.  The cause is under investigation by the Vancouver Fire Marshalls Office and Vancouver Police.
