Fire Contained In Seaside After Prompt Response From Fire Crews

SEASIDE, Ore. – On Tuesday, June 27, at approximately 4:42 p.m., a member of Seaside Fire & Rescue noticed smoke in the air near the south end of Seaside, east of Highway 101. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the smoke originated from an active fire in a large wood pile adjacent to a garage located in the 86000 block of S. Wahanna Road. The flames had spread along the garage’s siding and into the surrounding trees.

Additional crews from Seaside Fire arrived at the scene by 4:54 p.m. They swiftly worked to extinguish the fire and gain control of the situation, successfully preventing further damage to the structure and the spread of flames into the nearby woodland area. The incident was cleared, and all crews left the scene by 6:14 p.m.

Seaside Fire received mutual aid from various departments for the two-alarm wildland interface fire. Assisting agencies included Gearhart, Cannon Beach, Lewis & Clark, Warrenton, Hamlet, and the Oregon Department of Forestry.
