Portland, Ore. – A very expensive bird was stolen from a shop in Southeast Portland yesterday afternoon, and police are asking you to keep an eye out for it. Charlie the Cockatoo, is a pink rose color. He’s valued at over $2,000. He was taken from the Bird Hut on 112th and Division. Police say the suspect is a 35 to 40 year old white man with medium length greasy black hair. He was wearing a black hoodie, jeans, and a backpack. KXL’s Jacob Dean talked with police.

On Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 3:44p.m., East Precinct officers responded to Bird Hut located at 11249 Southeast Division Street on a report of a theft of a bird.

The bird is described as a 3-month-old Rose Breasted Cockatoo named Charlie. The owners believe it will only survive a few days outside of their care because it is still bottle-fed. The bird is valued at $2,200.

The suspect is described as a 35-40 year old white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans with medium length greasy black hair and a two pouched light colored backpack.
