Election Day In Oregon Is Finally Here

PORTLAND,Ore–   It’s General Election day across the country.  Everyone is eager to get passed today.  Ballots should be dropped off by 8 P.M. tonight.  There are multiple drop off sites across the state.  In Multnomah County all libraries will accept ballots.  Two key places in Portland are Multnomah County Elections headquarters and Pioneer Square drop Box.

Of major interest is the Presidential Race.  Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are the party favorites among Democrats and Republicans.  In Oregon Kate Brown who filled the remaining term of Governor John Kitzhaber is running for office for the first time.  Her Republican opponent is Bud Pierce.  The secretary of State Race is an interesting one if Dennis Richardson wins against Brad Avakian it will be the first time the GOP has won a statewide race in 10 years.  Measure 97 that increases the corporate business tax has voters wondering if that’s the right thing to do.  FM NEWS 101 will have complete Election returns tonight beginning at 4 P.M.
