Early Morning Grass Fire Near John Day

John Day, Ore. — Crews started battling a grass fire near the mouth of the John Day River in the Gorge early Monday morning.
The Sherman County Sheriff’s office says the fire in along I-84 near Le Page Park and east of the John Day Dam.
Le Page Park is under a level 2 evacuation notice which means to be ready to leave.
