Driver Killed After Hitting Power Pole On NE Columbia Blvd.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A driver was killed after hitting a power pole at Northeast 17th and Columbia Boulevard just after 1:30 on Friday morning.  The victim is identified as 33-year-old Alex Steckly.

The road was closed from 11th to 21st Avenue for several hours as crews repaired a damaged power pole and cleaned up debris that was scattered across the road.

Portland Police Bureau’s Major Crash Team is investigating.  There are no further details at this time.
