Driver Flees After Hitting Victim With Car At Vancouver Bar

VANCOUVER, Wash. — A man was hit by a vehicle and left bloody outside a bar on Northeast 112th in Vancouver on Saturday night as the driver took off.

The incident followed a memorial at Esther Short Park for Aaron Danielson, a member of the Patriot Prayer group who was shot and killed in downtown Portland one week earlier.

Friends gathered at the bar and the suspect, who police say followed them there, began recording them with his phone.  The suspect left after being contacted by security.  The group of friends went outside and had words with the man.

The suspect was seen hitting the victim as he took off.  30-year-old Charles Holliday-Smith turned himself in to police on Sunday afternoon.  He’s charged with Assault 1 and Felony Hit and Run.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.
