Driver Arrested For Suspected DUII, After Pedestrian Pinned To Building, Killed

Friday evening 18 year old Aiden Moran was heading southbound on Northeast 18th when he allegedly drove through a stop sign without stopping.

Police say his car then pulled in front of a pickup truck heading eastbound on East Burnside Street, causing the truck to strike his car on the passenger side.

The impact pushed his car up onto the sidewalk where a man was walking, which ultimately ended up pinning the man against a building.

The pedestrian was later pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital.

According to a police press release “Investigators determined that the Subaru was driven by Aidan S. Moran, 18, who showed signs of impairment. He was arrested and subsequently an Intoxilyzer breath test determined he had a blood-alcohol content of 0.12%, over the legal limit of 0.08%. Moran was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Manslaughter in the Second Degree, Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Reckless Driving, and three counts of Reckless Endangerment. Two passengers in the Subaru left the scene of the crash, but one later returned and was interviewed.”
