Daimler Trucks Swan Island Plant Temporarily Closes

PORTLAND, Ore. — Daimler Trucks North America has closed its truck plant on Swan Island at 4555 N. Channel Avenue until at least April 20th.  The plant has been closed since March 25th.

A statement on Monday morning read: “Please check back as circumstances may change.  Plant employees should contact their supervisors or Human Resources with any questions.  For DTNA employees working at other Portland Locations, office and location closures may vary – check with your supervisor or HR Representative for more information.”

NW Labor Press reports the closure affects about 700 members of the Machinists Local Lodge 1005, Teamsters Local 305, Painters Local 1094, and Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 49.
