Cold Weather Help For Homeless In Portland And Multnomah County

PORTLAND, Ore–We could be in for nearly two weeks of bitter cold conditions in the Portland metro area.  That could mean life or death for people living on the streets .  The Joint Office Of Homeless Services has outreach staff working on severe weather shelters year round.  Outreach workers have made the rounds this week passing out 15 degree weather sleeping bags, hats hoodies, blankets, gloves and more to those who have no intention of moving indoors to shelters. Outreach workers will be working the streets through the Christmas holiday weekend.

Cash donations are needed to keep supplies available. Volunteers are what make the severe weather shelters work.  There’s donation  and how to volunteer information at https://www.211info.org/contact  click on the donate tab.  Details on what’s required to volunteer https://www.multco.us/care-when-its-cold
