Chase, Standoff End in Deadly Shooting in Tillamook County

A chase, a standoff, a shooting, and a man dead,  in Tillamook County.

That man’s death, is the result of an officer involved shooting.  It happened on U.S. Highway 101, near milepost 94 in Southern Tillamook County.  Investigators say it happened after a chase that started in Lincoln County, officers pursued a car reportedly containing an explosive device.  They say a man in the vehicle was threatening to detonate the device, and was assaulting the female driver.  Officers used spike strips to disable the vehicle.  The shooting came after a more than two hour standoff.  The man was dead at the scene.
