Bowling Coach Headed to Prison

SEATTLE (AP) – Federal prosecutors say a former South King County bowling coach has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after drugging, molesting and filming teens he was supposed to be caring for during out-of-state tournaments and other events.

Ty Lee Treddenbarger pleaded guilty last October to producing and possessing child pornography. Authorities say the 54-year-old Burien man will also be sentenced on state charges of child molestation.

U.S. Attorney Brian Moran said in a written statement that Treddenbarger groomed the victims and went to great lengths to convince their parents he’d take care of them. A young victim reported the abuse in 2017. Investigators found more than 300 pictures and a dozen videos of him sexually abusing children in their early teens, many while they were drugged or sleeping.
