Long Beach Police Chief Says Bombs Were Meant To Kill

Long Beach, Wa. –   Long Beach Police have a person of interest in connection with two bombs found on  Monday. Chief Flint Wright will only say the person of interest is male.

He says the bombs were found near a fence along the main approach to the beach. He says the Washington State Patrol Bomb Squad which detonated the devices  told him ” these devices were meant to kill someone. The state patrol told us they would have been lethal within a 50 foot radius.”

He is asking if you see anything suspicious in Long Beach to leave it alone and call 9-1-1. He also says “we’re going to be a whole lot more hyper-vigilant when we look at these things than we were.”

The bombs contained shrapnel, gunshot shells and what appears to be rat poison.
