SEATTLE (AP) – Divers have recovered two bodies from Lake Washington that are presumed to be boaters that went missing off Mercer Island last month.

KOMO reports the bodies were found Monday evening in 110 feet of water about a mile off the shores of Mercer Island. Police said there were no obvious signs of trauma or foul play, and the King County Medical Examiner’s office will work to confirm the cause of death.

A man and woman were declared missing on Sept. 2 when Mercer Island police received a complaint about loud noise coming from a boat off the southwest end of the island around 10 p.m.

The police marine unit arrived on scene and found a 20-foot red-and-white pleasure craft adrift with no one aboard, still blasting loud music, said Cmdr. Jeff Magnan of the Mercer Island police.

Officers checked the boat and found evidence that a 33-year-old man and 31-year-old woman had been there at some point in the evening.
