Boat Trip Leads to Bobbie’s Boat Sauce!

At Farmer’s Markets, or food events around Portland you will see a booth called Bobbie’s Boat Sauce. Samples are given out, and if you try it, you’ll be glad you did because it’s unique and the flavors wake up your taste buds. It’s described as an addictive tomato-chili based sauce with aromatics and lime.

I wondered why it was called Boat Sauce, so I asked inventor Robin Rosenberg. She told me she was on a weeks-long sailing trip on the Inside Passage between Seattle and Alaska. What you take with you, or catch is all you get to eat, and she got creative.
