TUALATIN, Ore. — The e-scooter company Bird is backing out of its plans to launch a pilot program in Tualatin.
In June, Tualatin City Council voted in favor of a one-year, electric scooter pilot program with Bird. The city says it was canceled “due to unforeseen factors”.
“While we are disappointed that Bird won’t be launching, the good news is we now have a framework that other providers can use to bring e-scooters to our community,” said Deputy Public Works Director Nic Westendorf.
The city says they’re open to considering other scooter or bike sharing programs to improve transportation options in the city.
