Sunset Beach, Or. – An out of state trucker’s photo op at Sunset Beach in Clatsop County backfired Tuesday. His big rig was hit by a sneaker wave and became stuck in the surf. A volunteer group of 4 x 4’s, called Clatsop County Sons Of Beaches came to his rescue. Jay Pitman founded the group in 2014 and figures they make 1,000 rescues a year.
He says they don’t just tow; they also teach about beach safety.
