Beaverton Apartment Fire Leaves Families Homeless

BEAVERTON, Ore. — Fire swept through an apartment complex on SW Menlo Drive and Allen Boulevard just before 8:30 on Sunday night, displacing four families.

The unit at the end of the complex was fully engulfed in flames when crews from Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue arrived.  Flames spread into the attic over all the units, causing extensive smoke and water damage.

Approximately 10 people are now homeless.  The Red Cross is helping residents should they need it.  Nobody was injured.

A cage was found covered on a porch with a pet bunny safe inside that was returned to its owner.

The cause remains under investigation.
