Arrest Made Following Pedestrian Death

The driver of a car that struck and killed a pedestrian Sunday night has been arrested. 40-year-old Clifford Perry was cited for DUI and charged with second-degree manslaughter and reckless driving. Police say Perry was speeding down Southeast Division Street and 124th Avenue when he struck 61-year-old Damon Burton. After hitting Burton, Perry crashed into a concrete block in front of a gas station. The fatality is the City’s 31st traffic death this year.
