Armed Intruder Shot & Killed By Resident In SE Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. — A man was shot and killed in Northeast Portland this week after reportedly trying to force his way inside an apartment armed with a gun and firing a shot.

Police responded to the death near Northeast 66th and Broadway just before 11:00am on Monday.

The man shot and killed has been identified as 41-year-old Omar Greely.

Detectives say the resident who shot Greely called 911 and remained at the scene.

This is the 83rd homicide of the year in Portland.
