Tobias Read Running for Oregon Governor

Oregon State Treasurer Tobias Read is launching his campaign for Oregon Governor.  He’s putting the fight over COVID-19 vaccine mandates front in center.  In announcing his run, he talked about having two children, one who is eligible for a vaccine and another who is not.

Voters first elected Read State Treasurer in 2016, then re-elected him in 2020. He also represented the Beaverton area from 2006 to 2016 as a State Representative.

He lists accomplishments including getting full day Kindergarten passed, establishing the state’s rainy day fund for a crisis like the pandemic, and starting a first in the nation retirement savings program.
