Portland, Lake Oswego Residents Face Federal Charges After ICE and Courthouse Damage

Two Oregonians face federal charges, after recent demonstrations near the U.S. Courthouse and the ICE Portland Field Office. Investigators accuse a Portland man, 56 year old Richard Hernandez, of breaking more than a dozen windows at the courthouse and the ICE office during three riots. They say they have evidence that he threw 74 rocks at the ICE office’s windows.  Because of that, he faces three counts of destruction of government property.

A 19 year old from Lake Oswego, Rowan McManigal’s accused of pulling wiring from the ICE building’s card reader and intercom. Investigators say he was carrying a hoax explosive device.  They say he confessed it contained water and that it was meant to waste people’s time, if protesters were arrested.  Manigal’s charged with conveying false or misleading information.
